Política de privacidad

Última actualización:

Responsable y contacto

Si no, no envía ninguna.

Privacy policy

Last updated:

Who we are

LSM Games Studio is the developer of Four Crowns, a turn-based strategy game where four kingdoms fight over an island. This policy explains what information the current version of the game handles, why, and who it is shared with. For any privacy question, write to lsmgamesstudio@gmail.com.

In short

  • You don't need an account, and we don't ask for your email or any other personal data. To play with friends you are asked for a name, which the people you play with can see and, in the same room, nearby phones looking for a game.
  • Your game and settings are stored only on your device.
  • The game shows no ads. There is a single optional purchase, the full game, handled by Google Play.
  • If you allow it in the window shown the first time (or in Options), the game sends usage statistics to Google Analytics for Firebase. If you don't, it sends none.
  • It is played offline. It only connects for the purchase (with Google Play and with Unity's purchasing library) and, if you allow it, for usage statistics. Games with friends travel in a file you send yourself, or directly between nearby phones, and never go through a server.

Data stored on your device

The game stores the game in progress (the map, the cities, the units and how it is going) and your settings, such as music and sound effects volume or language, on your device, so you can carry on where you left off and keep your preferences. This information is not sent to LSM Games Studio.

If Android backup is turned on, your device may keep a copy of that data in your Google account and restore it when you reinstall the game or switch phones. That copy is handled by Android and Google under their own policy; we have no access to it.

Games with friends

Four Crowns lets you play with friends turn by turn without any server: the game is saved in a file that you send yourself with your device's share menu, through the app of your choice (for example, WhatsApp). That file contains the whole game and, for each player, the name they typed to play with friends (it can be a nickname) and a random identifier the game creates on their device to recognise their seat in the game. That identifier does not come from any device or account data, and it cannot be used to identify you outside the game.

The file only reaches the people you send it to, and the app you share it with handles it under its own privacy policy. LSM Games Studio does not receive those files and has no access to them. When you open a file you were sent with the game, the game reads only that file and saves the game on your device.

Playing in the same room

You can also play in the same room, at the same time and each on your own phone. The game connects nearby phones using Google's Nearby Connections, which uses Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Direct. The connection is between the devices: it does not go through the internet or any LSM Games Studio server.

While the game is open, the phone of whoever created it announces to nearby devices the name they typed to play with friends, so the others can find it. The game, the moves, and each player's name and random identifier (the same ones as in games passed around in a file) travel between the phones in the game. Each phone keeps a copy of the game so it can be continued if the connection drops. LSM Games Studio receives nothing from these games.

What the game does not do

The current version of Four Crowns shows no advertising and includes no advertising or automatic crash reporting services; usage statistics only if you allow them (see the next section). It has no online mode or leaderboards either: you play against the computer or with friends, by passing the game around in a file or connecting nearby phones, and your games are not sent to any server of ours or of a third party.

It is built with the Unity engine. If ads or any other feature that handles data are added in the future, we will update this policy and show the new date before publishing it.

Usage statistics

The first time you open the game downloaded from Google Play, a window asks whether you let us measure how the game is played. Only if you say yes does the game use Google Analytics for Firebase, a Google service, to understand in aggregate how the game is played, improve it and measure how well our ads for the game work. It records, for example, the first launch, sessions, the games you start and how they end, whether you reach turn 10, the cities you conquer, whether you have the full game and purchases made on Google Play. To do this, the Firebase SDK processes an app instance ID, your device's advertising ID, your IP address (from which an approximate location is inferred), technical information about your device and system, and those game events. It does not include your name, your email or the content of your games.

If you say no, no statistics are sent. You can change your choice at any time in Options › Statistics. LSM Games Studio looks at this data in aggregate in the Firebase console and in Google Ads and does not use it to identify you; it is not used for personalized ads. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

The full game purchase

The whole game can be played without paying, with part of the content locked. There is a single optional purchase, "full game", that unlocks it, and it is paid through Google Play: the payment is handled by Google with your account and under their own privacy policy. LSM Games Studio does not see or store your payment details (no card, address or email); we only receive from Google whether the purchase has been made, in order to unlock the content, and the aggregated sales reports Google gives developers.

To find out whether you already own it, the game asks Google Play for your account's purchases and stores the result on your device, so the content stays unlocked offline and you can restore it when you reinstall the game or switch phones.

The connection with Google Play is made by Unity In-App Purchasing, Unity's purchasing library. When it starts, that library and the Unity services it relies on may send Unity Technologies technical data, such as the device model, the system version, an installation identifier and the result of purchase operations, so that it works and to diagnose errors. Unity handles that data under its own privacy policy; it does not include your name, email or payment details.

Permissions

The game does not ask for access to your contacts, camera, microphone or files. The Google Analytics for Firebase library declares Android's advertising ID permission, which is only used if you allow statistics; you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. To play with friends, Android lets you open a game file you were sent with the game: the game reads only that file.

To play in the same room, Android requires Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and nearby devices permissions, and Google's connection service also asks for the location permission. The game does not use that permission to know where you are and never shares your location: the system asks for it because Bluetooth scans could be used to infer it. These permissions are only requested when you tap “Create a same-room game” or “Join a game”, and you can withdraw them in Android settings: they only affect playing in the same room.

Downloading from Google Play

The game is downloaded from Google Play, which handles the data of the download and of your account under its own privacy policy. LSM Games Studio only sees the aggregated statistics Google gives developers, such as the number of installs per country, with no data that identifies you.

Retention and deletion

Your game, your games with friends and your settings stay on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall it. You can clear them in Android settings, under the app's storage section; this deletes your saved games. A game with friends can also be deleted from “With friends” in the game. Copies of the file you sent stay in the chats and devices you shared it with: delete them there if you wish. Usage statistics, if you allow them, are kept in Google Analytics for Firebase for at most 14 months.

Children

Four Crowns is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.

Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to lsmgamesstudio@gmail.com. Apart from usage statistics, which are pseudonymous and which we cannot link to you without additional information, we will normally only hold what you provide in that email. You can also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country; in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos.

Email

If you contact us by email, we will use your address and the information you provide to answer your request. We keep these messages for as long as needed to handle it and to meet applicable legal obligations. You can ask us to delete them by writing to the same address.

Changes to this policy

If the game's features or the way data is handled change, we will update this policy and show the new update date.
